This year, Broadway in the Park pays tribute to the legendary Broadway genius Stephen Sondheim, featuring the Broadway star Carolee Carmello, Three-time Tony Nominee, alongside a stellar cast of Portuguese performers and a live orchestra.

Masterclass Creating a Solo Show -

Taking place over two intensive full-day sessions on 18 and 19 July 2026, this masterclass is designed to develop and support each participant’s artistic vision, monologue writing, and musical selection, with the goal of creating an original solo theatrical performance that combines existing songs with personal storytelling. This process differs from the traditional cabaret format in that the dramatic material connecting the musical numbers is not merely used as transitional text or an introduction to the next song. Instead, the focus is on crafting a compelling narrative with dramatic coherence, emotional depth, and the structure of a well-told story.

The result will be a fully realized solo theatre piece that integrates music and personal storytelling, encouraging individual artistic expression and the creation of an authentic and meaningful performance experience.

The Masterclass will be accompanied by a Portuguese pianist.

After two sold-out editions, Broadway no Parque returns this summer for a historic edition, from July 10 to 12, returning to the magic Torel Garden (Jardim do Torel) in Lisbon.

For the first time in Portugal, the show will bring together several Broadway stars on stage alongside national artists, in a vibrant celebration of musical theatre!

Seth Rudetsky—pianist, conductor, host, and a central figure on Broadway—welcomes Santino Fontana, Tony Award winner for Best Actor and globally known as the voice of Prince Hans in Disney’s Frozen; Liz Callaway, Tony-nominated, renowned for voicing the animated film Anastasia, with an extensive Broadway career including productions such as Cats and Miss Saigon; and Sissi Martins, one of the most iconic figures in the Portuguese performing arts scene.

Broadway no Parque brings the greatest Broadway hits and iconic moments from the careers of the guest artists to Lisbon, alongside a remarkable national cast.
